Tees, Kicks & Sombreros

Day 2 : June 3, 2009, originally uploaded by roboticaldad.

So over the years, I seemed to have fascinations with collecting 3 types of apparel items: t-shirts, shoes and hats. I have sort of hibernated from gathering such items because 1) I already have so many t-shirts that I vow to wear again when I lose weight, 2) I handed off my shoe obsession to my younger brother and 3) my receding hairline may be the result of wearing headgear most of the time. Well, my hibernation stage may be starting to lift because I'm wanting to get back into this phase and here's how I'll kick it off again with some modifications.

My t-shirts are mostly tight and even if I lose some weight, I can't deny they will still be tight. My solution... clean house with those t-shirts and start designing new ones and buy them my size. Yeah, I've told myself, and my wife, I'm going to start designing my own t-shirts again for awhile now but always getting lazy, so I'm really going to do it this time. I already have some new designs at elementQuattro but I need to make more, not just for me to wear but also for other people to buy.

My shoes addiction won't be happening. Over 15 years ago, I used to buy a pair of kicks maybe either once per paycheck, once a month or every year a new pair of Jordans came out (including all the other Nike brands). Don't get me wrong, I'm still obsessed with shoes, it's just that I need to get the coolest pair so I can have them for awhile, like my white shelltoe Adidas with brown stripes and argyle fatlaces. And if I need to wear a different pair everyday, my other solution is to borrow my brother's who has become a shoe collector himself, but it's difficult now that he lives @2 hours away...

The same goes for my headgear, I just need to buy the coolest looking lid to wear for a long time. Baseball caps seem to come and go for me because they get deformed too quickly. My faves? Kangols, french caps, buckets and my newly acquired straw fedora. I may still buy a baseball cap, but like I said, it better be really cool 'cuz I won't be replacing it anytime soon like I used to.

*Don't forget, visit elementQuattro to see my latest t-shirt designs!!!

Looks like the "Happiest Place on Earth" is getting invaded by "The Force". Check out these posters to promote Disney's Star Wars Weekends at Walt Disney World. They're pretty cool!!!

We'll have to schedule this one in next year for sure!

LOL... I actuall saw this flying out to California in one of those SkyMall magazines/brochures. It's supposed to help out with back problems. But it just looks so crazy!

Watchin' my @$$!

Driving on the way home on Highway 6, I noticed a car driving around with its trunk open. Then out of nowhere, in the trunk of the car, a 32+" flat screen turns on to broadcast a music video the car's passengers are listening to. Okay, I've watched MTVs Pimp My Ride and I can see them doing stuff like that, but what's the point of this one? Are you serious? So, all I was waiting for was for someone to rear-end this car or seeing if flashing police lights pull his pimped out trunk over for a ticket.

Oyeah, the SUV next to us were laughing at about the car but thought it was cool I was actually taking pictures of it... LOL

Downtown Houston Skyline Photo Safari - 4/14/2009

So, once in awhile, my co-worker/friend and I would go venture out during lunch and shoot some photographs around downtown Houston. Yesterday, he needed to take some skyline photos for his wife's freelance and I tagged along. I got some good shots but I still need to touch some up. Here is the link to the unedited photos: http://www.tiangcodesign.com/photographic/Houston_041409

And here are some panoramics.
